Undergraduate Program in Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine is located in the North Campus in Ünalan and actively offers a 6-year undergraduate program in medicine. Language of instruction in the program is Turkish. The undergraduate education period in the faculty consists of six periods, each covering one academic year and lasts for a minimum of 32 weeks. Education is performed on the basis of course boards in terms I, II and III, internship in terms IV, V and VI.
The students receive theoretical training in the faculty building in the first three years and perform clinical internship in the Ministry of Health Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Training and Research Hospital in their last three years. Education is based on integrated curricula, which involve the application of learning methods such as problem-based learning and case-based learning which encourage the students to investigate and generate solutions to clinical problems. Students acquire clinical skills in the faculty’s Clinical Skills Labs. Some of the faculty clinics are already accredited nationally or internationally, while for others, there are ongoing efforts toward getting accredited. The students can visit high-quality centers abroad for training and research purposes.
